Watson Lake is a small northern town just north of BC. Located on the Alaska Hwy in southeastern Yukon. Watson Lake offers diverse Alaska Hwy accommodation in motels and hotels. Several of the hotels and motels in Watson Lake might not offer lodging year-round.
If you dive north from Watson Lake for 5 hours over the Alaska Hwy you reach Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon.
Look for lodging at Muncho Lake, 2 1/2 hours south of Watson Lake, thereby saving a day on the journey to Alaska. The Alaska Hwy is now all paved in northern BC and southern Yukon. Traveling over the Alcan is not anymore an outdoor adventure. Many Alcan travelers realize that they can spend a night at a hotel or motel in Dawson Creek or Fort St. John, then drive to Muncho Lake to overnight at a nice hotel accomodation.
